W dniach, od 7-15 lutego 2012 roku, w Moskiewskim turnieju, brali udział trzej Polscy szachiści.
Zwyciężył, GM Mateusz Bartel - 1 miejsce (6,5 pkt)
GM Bartosz Soćko - 33 miejsce (5 pkt) i GM Grzegorz Gajewski - 43 miejsce (4,5 pkt)
Arcymistrzowie Bartosz i Grzegorz, odnotowali zyski, na rankingu.
Taki wspaniały wynik Mateusza, daje ogromne powody do radości, polscy kibice doczekali się sukcesu jakiego ponad 100 lat temu osiągnął tylko Akiba Rubinstein. (w 1909 roku, wygrał równie silny turniej w Rosji w Sankt Petersburgu)
Satysfakcja jest tym większa ponieważ w tym roku obchodzimy, Europejski Rok Rubinsteina.
